Grandpa's Gums

Any guesses on what this is? I'll reveal the answer next post!

I don't know what this is. Several things came to mind and none seem to quite fit.

First impression was a macro of an animals skull with teeth, but the larger view didn't seem to fit. Second impression was a moldy pie crust from a pecan pie crust (hints of green), but the larger view didn't seem to bear that one out either. So I give up.

The only other thing I could think of is Belgian block with moss growing on it.

A lizard/snake, upside down and slightly on an angle as well...it could just be my warped sense of reality though ;)

It looks like the segments of something like a caterpillar or centipede. You said you would post the answer.. but I can't find it! waa! bereft and disconsolate :)
