Chamaeleo calyptratus
The Veiled Chameleon (Chamaeleocalyptratus), is a large species of chameleon found in the mountain regions of Yemen and Saudi Arabia. It is also sometimes referred to as the Yemen Chameleon. Unfortunately as was the case with this dude, many are smuggled into Australia, where most perish. This one was lucky!

Wow! Such interesting patterns. While it's terrible that they get smuggled in I am glad this one is alive and well and there for you to photograph and share with us.
